Somewhere in the world of Abstract Expressionism, thumbprintpaints is a combination and progression of Color Field and Action Painting in what has come to be called by some, Lyrical Abstraction.
This series of paintings is inspired by the beauty and simplicity of the sunrise and sunset moment. Both moments, if slowed down, and attention payed, we realise that life is in constant transition, each moment to the next.
thumbprintpaints is an exercise to express how I see and feel the world around me. I seek to create a dialogue, both inner and outer, where we can feel that we are all connected. I wish you well. kevin lakes.
