Artista Mundo

About Us

ArtistaMundo.com was founded by three sisters from Miami who had a common interest at heart: to create a platform for artists to gain exposure, exchange ideas and interact within a global arts community. Through their various arts backgrounds, travels and experiences, they came up with the model that is ArtistaMundo.com today.

In 2001, ArtistaMundo.com partnered with OassySoft, a technology company in Barcelona, to design and create an interactive platform for artists online. OasysSoft provides the latest in technologies to improve and add new features and applications to the site.

Cristina Figueredo Zizold
Founder / Creative Director

As Founder and Creative Director of ArtistaMundo.com, Cristina Figueredo Zizold brings years of experience as an artist and art historian to the management team. Cristina currently works and studies at the University of Miami. In 2006, she moved from the museum world to the University of Miami to work on the innovative Imagebase Project, a $1.5 million project to digitize the art history and architecture images for faculty and students of the university. Previous to working at the university, she worked at the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami as the Education Outreach Coordinator. She is a member of the Young Americas Business Trust in Washington D.C. with the Organization of American States; and she was a City of Miami board member for “Viernes Culturales”, a monthly arts fair in the Little Havana area with the mission of providing community enhancement through arts and culture. She has participated in large volunteer art projects in the City of Miami and has written numerous art-related articles for local magazines. Cristina is currently working towards her Masters of Fine Art at the University of Miami; she earned her Bachelors in Art History from Florida State University. During her time traveling through Europe to study art between 1998 and 1999, Cristina saw a need to bridge a gap between the fast paced world of technology and the traditional arts. This is when ArtistaMundo.com was born. Cristina’s vision was to create an online community of artists to help others just like herself gain international exposure through the Internet. Cristina has exhibited in Miami, New York and London and has won multiple arts awards throughout her career.
